Jonathan Aberman is a seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and innovator who currently serves as CEO and co‑founder of Hupside, where he leads the development of tools to measure and elevate human originality in AI‑driven workplaces. He is also a Partner at Ruxton Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early‑stage companies in education, fintech, data science, and cybersecurity.

Before moving into venture investing and startup leadership, Jonathan practiced law and worked in investment banking, giving him deep firsthand experience in legal, financial and regulatory aspects of technology commercialization.

Over the years he has served on multiple corporate and nonprofit boards, advising founders on corporate governance, growth strategy, and exit planning, and helping guide companies from early-stage idea through successful exits.

Jonathan also brings a strong academic and mentoring presence to the innovation ecosystem. He was appointed Visiting Executive Entrepreneur and Strategic Advisor to the Frank J. Guarini School of Business at John Cabot University in May 2024 In this role, he contributes both as a practitioner and educator within the academic realm.

In May 2025, Jonathan served as a visiting professor leading the inaugural Fairfax City Economic Development Fellowship, developed jointly with JCU’s Guarini School and Fairfax City Economic Development. He guided students through a real-world, transatlantic learning experience—culminating in strategic presentations to U.S. economic development officials

Jonathan is also a recognized speaker and advisor in the innovation ecosystem, frequently invited to talk on topics such as entrepreneurship, venture funding, national security and technology policy. Through roles in mentoring programs and startup accelerators, and as a strategic advisor to founders, he has built a strong track record of helping entrepreneurs sharpen their business models, accelerate customer discovery, and position for exit opportunities.
